Cruising
from marina de Cogolin around Gulf de St Tropez, St Raphael, Frejus,
Ramatuelle Plage Pampelonne, Porquerolles Islands, Bandol, Bormes
Les Mimosas,
20-25th June 2007

After a brief visit to our partners in
the region and an inspection tour of some of the more luxurious yachts
ie. PAS ENCORE above, we went for lunch to Napoule/La Mandelieu at the
OASIS restaurant
http://www.oasis-raimbault.com/
. We have to say we got ripped
off and would suggest everyone avoids this place. The meals were
scruffy, coldish and hardly edible, the prices extortionate even for the
high paying clientele frequenting here. There are much better
restaurants in the region of course !! After unsuccessful lunch, we got
a luxury tender transfer from our colleagues directly to Marina de
Cogolin where we have taken over our Jeanneau Prestige 46.
Day 1:
On this day we mainly sat out in neighbouring cafe bars having lunch and
cold drinks and provisioning our boat. We also hired a local 6m
motor boat tender and had a brief but successful stint at water skiing
directly in front of the St Tropez's harbour :-)

Day 2:
Today we cruised locally around lovely St Raphael and Frejus towns.
We also inspected couple of other yachts anchored in front or berthed
inside fabulous bay of St Tropez.

Day 3 - 10NM
Today we headed westwards towards Porquerolles islands, stopped for
lunch in the famous CLUB 55
http://www.club55.fr/ on the
Pampelonne Plage and had a dinner in one of the local restaurants within
the National Park. We did not miss out to make a brief stop in Le
Lavandou and anchor directly beneath Joan Collins's villa.
Day 4 - 10NM
On this day we had a longish stint towards lovely and my favourite
Bandol. Lots of shopping (clothes) as well as fresh vegetables
(the best after St Tropez's fabulous market place) and quick pizza lunch
brought us back to a lovely resort of Bormes les Mimosas. Here we
inspected yachts of our partners, met with them for dinner and settled
for the night early after a brief chat on deck, where we have agreed our
new business development plan :-).
Day 5
- 10NM
Heading eastwards, we stopped briefly on the beach where Chitty
Chitty Bang Bang was made and having followed a mystical red hull luxury
motor yacht, we finally agreed this must be FIGI, the lovely GUY COUACH
30M motor yacht, one of the rare yachts of this size with a permanent
berth in St Tropez harbour. After another afternoon at Le
Pampelonne (not really our place given yachts of 40-60m dominate the
area :-) ) but still with champagne on deck we retired very early in the
morning after several hours of partying.
On the last morning we anchored in
front of Bridgitte Bardo's villa and snorkelled for an hour before
returning to Cogolin. |
