ONE WAY charter from Split - ZADAR.

Saling from ACI Marina in Trogir towards Veli Drvenik Island and Krknjasi Uvala, Rogoznica, Primosten, Murter, Kornati Archipelago, Telascica Nature Bay, Vodice, and Marina Borik in Zadar.

We arrived in Dubrovnik on 1st of June 2007 and rented a car for a brief visit to Kotor in Montenegro. There we met some of our friends, inspected their fleet of lovely Elan,  Jeanneau sailing yachts and ended up having a dinner in an old town restaurant where they served lovely local wines and food.

After a quick breakfast, we headed back to Dubrovnik airport to pick up another friend of ours. Finding a hotel in BABIN KUK area of Dubrovnik proved easier then we thought it would be, as this time we decided to avoid more expensive 5 star establishments located nearer to town. Last time Excelsior charged us almost 300 Eur for the room, but provided only a good service not offering the value. This time we stayed in a three star hotel paying only 100 Eur and found it to be clean, half empty which contributed to luxury and serving the best breakfast buffet you can imagine. Go Aurora, go.  The beach nearby, famous ''COPACABANA'', although not equal to the original one in RIO, is still a nice place for your first dive. That night we ended up partying in Fuego, the best club in Dubrovnik.  My good friend Darion even fell with love with local Croatian girl but sadly they never made it for a second date as we had to live tomorrow morning.

Day 1 - 15NM:
After driving 4h from Dubrovnik, we arrived in Trogir around 2pm only to fiind the rest of our crew already allocating the cabins.  We ended up having a good one, as our SUN ODYSSEY 54S was a luxury boat with spacious cabins, good toilets (STILL A BIT CRAMPED IN THERE !!) although without teak deck or ipod connections which we would have prefered.  On this day, we stocked up only basic provisions, had lunch in the local restaurant and sailed away towards Krkanjasi around 3pm.  There we only had a brief dip into the water and soon found ourselves en route towards Rogoznica for the night.

Day 2 - 10NM:
After a night out in relatively boring Rogoznica, we set sail very early for Primosten.  Breakfast on board was the usual one, with everyone taking care of it on their own and fighting for the last of cups that we around :) .  Primosten proved to be a much  more entertaining venue. Restaurants were in abundance, beach closer and much nicer, shopping sensible.  it is likely, even Trogir will be left behind by Primosten in few years time as there seems to be some kind of progress here in comparison to Trogir where road works lasting 2 years already, and to last another few, are simply no longer acceptable for us who go there at least 2-3 times a year.

Day 3 - 10NM
After Primosten we decided to save some money on mooring and ended up in Murters town harbour on anchorage. It was a nice warm day and getting on shore with a 2.6m dinghy that can sit only 3 or 4 with kids was an easy task. Murter, albeit attracting general lower class tourism,  still had something about it, with excellent good food, very good shopping and relatively good entertainment.

 Day 4 - 12NM
The day after we sailed towards Vodice, a lovely tourist town with a great marina. After an obligatory anchorage along the coast, for swimming, snorkelling and just relaxing, it is nice to end up in a cosmopolitan place, leaving your yacht in a great marina just opposite the restaurant where you eat for the night.   Being tired from plenty of sailing against the winds, we felt asleep very early, already around 10pm that night.

 Day 5 - 18NM
Heading towards Kornati on this day was a great experience. Our favourite place, OPAT proved to be a top choice once again. Lovely bay, secure mooring, fresh fish and not so lovely and longish but worthy hike to the top of the island, where we built our own stone pyramids were the highlights of the day.

 Day 6 - 15NM
On our final sailing day, we sailed across the whole of Kornati Archipelago.

The wind was great so much so that we managed to reach 11kn, with 8 adults and 2 kids on board and really only just about trying.  I even ended up being pulled behind, as the skipper suggested we continue sailing towards Borik due to bad weather gathering, rather then staying in an unsecure location overnight.  We therefore did not have time for swim, and I grabbed a line and jumped in the Adriatic, being pulled by the power of sails only. A lovely feeling and a highly recommendable exercise, although you do have to be careful not to get injured as it can be a tricky thing to do.

 Day 7 - 15NM
On our final day, we returned the boat to the base manager who immediately went onto preparing it for the new crew.  Suffice to say, we all had our cars either in Trogir or needed a new rent a car, thus starting our home journeys was not that easy.

At the end, sailing ONE WAY from Split region towards Zadar is a great experience and one to be recommended.
