Together with Lagoon 440, L420 catamaran is by far the most popular charter catamaran in the world.  One can easily see that a lot of forethought went into the design of this mid sized multihull, which boasts several important design and safety innovations. To start with, the Lagoon 420's lovely clean decks, flush mounted hatches and a lovely wide walk-around, provide safe and easy access to the foredeck. While sailing, you won't have to concern yourselves with the kids catching their fingers in the traveller for example! All commands are safely mounted on top of the fiberglass bimini, leaving the cockpit free and clear of any dangers and allowing for a walk through transom!

The L420 offers a well engineered sail handling arrangement making her very easy to sail with just the captain and a deckhand. She can be quite easily sailing by a single person as well. All lines lead to the raised helm station, within easy reach of the skipper's seat and a sliding hatch over the helm station can be opened to check sail trim or closed to provide protection from the hot sun rays. Lagoon have taken great pains to provide a crisp and clean interior as well. The galley faces the cockpit with sliding door access and a large sliding glass pass through, allowing the cook to be part of the fun and allowing the breeze to circulate throughout the yacht. A brief description of the principle involved
• Complete installation is composed of two electric motors connected to propellers by straight shaft transmissions, one generator and two set of 6 batteries.
• When batteries are 100 % charged, the boat will be able to function with both motors
for approximately two hours (depending on speed). When batteries are 80 % charged, the generator will automatically start and charge the batteries and provide electricity for the motors.
• When sailing, propellers will turn freely and charge the batteries.
