Southernmost of the Windward islands, Grenada is one of the most secluded islands in the region, and therefore ideally located for social distancing and self-isolation sailing holidays in the East Caribbean. With only a handful bareboat charter yachts based here, we recommend advance booking and ahead planning in order to be able to choose best yachts, get best advance booking deals and ensure your preferred sailing weeks are reserved for your party or family. Set sail here on board of an owner version, 3-en suite cabin sailing catamaran with full equipment this year or next winter, on a weekly or ideally long-term charter basis.

With numerous rainforests, waterfalls and well managed rum distilleries, usually best explored through pre-booked inland tours, combine with plenty of relaxed shopping experience, going back to normal life is given here. Considering that huge number of sandy beaches and opened bars and restaurants would round up your sailing adventure in the Caribbean, sailing on an owner version catamaran such as BALI 4.0 is highly recommendable. Given that sailing conditions are almost perfect for experienced crew with nearly constant 10-25kn NE / SE winds that tend to grow stronger in the Grenadines part of the region, there is a real advantage for couples and families to escape to the area this year.

Amongst many optional bays, anchorages, moorings and towns you can hit during a regular one week charters, we would in particular recommend longer-term sailing holidays with optional ONE WAY charters towards St Lucia or at least St Vincent's Blue Lagoon. Otherwise, weekly or fortnightly sailing holidays are a perfect way to escape and enjoy a spectacular yachting getaway in the East Caribbean as well. Your typical one or two weeks stopovers would include locations such as Dragon Bay for exceptional snorkelling at Moliniere Point, Grand Anse Beach for all day sunbathing and swimming and Prickly Bay as one of the best last-night anchorage spots for all-night entertainment before heading back home. Other than that, most itineraries will take you towards Hillsborough on Carriacou for romantic meals ashore on one of the many restaurant terraces, with obligatory walks around historical sites and art displays in the town before or just after the meal. You will also want to make stopovers at Tyrrel Bay and Sandy island for optional lunch, before hitting the obligatory Tobago Cays, known as one of the best sailing anchorages in the world anywhere. These jewels of the Caribbean are a Marine Park and ideal stop for tasting lobster BBQ and not to be missed seafood of any kind.

Islands of Mayreau, which offers free mooring and a white-sand beach, the Royal island of Mustique where all the rich and famous tend to congregate at times, exclusive but peaceful Bequia and Union Island where customs clearance can be done at Clifton Harbour and biking or hiking tours tend to be popular are rounding up a perfect itinerary. Finally, don’t forget a visit to Petit Martinique as it can be a useful location to provision with water, ice and alcohol, given the shortage of these items on islands in the area and to round up one of the most fabulous sailing itineraries anywhere. With an owner version boat which is otherwise equipped with a 60L/H watermaker, a microwave, 3x el. toilets, free outboard engine and a tender, as well as a generator (9KW), an inverter, 2x100W solar panels and air condition, you are well served to enjoy a spectacular yachting vacation in the Grenadines.
